Organizing a stylish boat party in Medway Wharf Marina
I’ve come up with an idea to surprise my sister before her wedding: we could organize a stylish picnic on the water in Kent and cruise along the River Medway instead of just sitting in a café. Since we're from London, Maidstone is perfect for us. It's not far from Heathrow or Gatwick, and the M20 is very convenient for driving. I’ve found a couple of boats with open decks at Medway Wharf Marina on GetBoat. It seems like the best starting point since they have Wi-Fi for posting stories and showers to freshen up before dinner. Has anyone ordered catering through their local partners? Does it look as nice in real life?

Oh, the idea of a river bachelorette-style picnic is a solid 10 out of 10! We did something similar last year for a birthday, and we absolutely loved the views. The catering there is great — everything comes nicely packed, and overall everything went perfectly for us. What month are you planning to go? If it’s July or August, I’d recommend booking at least a couple of weeks in advance, because on bank holidays it’s usually fully packed, and all the decent boats with big decks get taken really fast. Make sure to share photos afterwards!
